1. Summary
Saftera is designed as a local-first safety utility. It does not require a Saftera account, does not show third-party advertising, does not sell personal data, and does not use personal data for targeted advertising.
Precise location, saved location notes, emergency profile details, rescue card information, journal entries, sensor readings, camera access for the flashlight, and translation text are processed for the feature you choose. Saftera does not receive those local field records unless you choose to share content outside the app.
Limited technical information may be processed when the app downloads map packages, checks a map catalog, downloads Google ML Kit language models, opens legal document pages from the app, or when you contact support.
2. Information processed or stored on your device
Location: used for offline maps, moving the map to your position, GPS status, altitude or distance display where available, saved location notes, and rescue messages. Saved location notes include latitude, longitude, user-entered notes, and timestamps, and remain on your device.
Emergency profile and rescue card: if you enter them, Saftera stores name, date of birth, blood type, allergies, medical conditions, medications, address, guardian or emergency contact details, phone numbers, relationship, and medical notes on your device using platform storage such as Keychain or encrypted shared preferences where supported.
Health and medical fields may be sensitive personal data that you choose to enter for rescue card features. Saftera does not send this information to its servers. It leaves the app only if you manually share it through SMS, email, QR code, clipboard, screenshots, or another app.
Journal entries and saved location notes: notes, coordinates, and timestamps are saved locally for offline use.
Camera and audio: camera permission is used only to control the device flashlight, strobe, and SOS flash through the camera module. Saftera does not take photos, record video, record microphone audio, or upload camera or audio content.
Sensors and settings: compass, motion, rotation, pressure, barometer, level, display, battery or device diagnostics, language, text size, theme, GPS power mode, downloaded map metadata, and app preferences are processed locally for app features.
Notifications: Saftera may request notification permission to show offline map download progress, completion, pause, cancellation, or failure. It does not use notifications for third-party advertising.
| Category | Data | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Location | Latitude, longitude, altitude or accuracy where available, saved note text, timestamps | Offline maps, GPS status, saved location notes, rescue messages | Your device |
| Emergency profile | Name, date of birth, blood type, allergies, medical conditions, medications, address, guardian or emergency contact, medical notes | Rescue card display and sharing you choose | Secure storage on your device |
| Journal and saved location notes | Notes, coordinates, creation time | Offline records and map review | Your device |
| Settings and sensors | App preferences, language, text size, downloaded map metadata, sensor readings | App functionality and preference storage | Your device |
3. Limited network data
Saftera can use network connections when you open the Privacy Policy or Terms of Service from the app, download map catalogs or map packages, download Google ML Kit language models, or send support email.
Hosting, security, and delivery providers may process standard technical logs such as IP address, request time, requested URL, user agent, status code, error logs, and approximate region derived from network routing. These logs are used for delivery, reliability, abuse prevention, security, debugging, legal compliance, and business records. They are not used by Saftera for third-party advertising or targeted advertising.
If you send support email, your email address, message content, attachments, and related metadata are processed so Waitcle can respond.
4. Google ML Kit translation
Offline translation uses Google ML Kit on-device translation. Translation input text and translated output are processed on your device for the translation feature. Saftera does not receive, store, or sell your translation text on its servers.
Google states that ML Kit may contact Google servers to download or update language models, receive bug fixes, check hardware accelerator compatibility, receive remote configuration, send API performance and utilization metrics, and help prevent misuse or abuse.
ML Kit diagnostic and usage information may include device information such as device model, operating system version and build, and available ML hardware accelerators; app information such as bundle ID and app version; per-installation identifiers; performance metrics such as latency; API configuration; event types such as feature initialization, model download, translation, and resource release; error codes; and configured source and target languages. Google uses this information for diagnostics, usage analytics, API maintenance, API improvement, compatibility, and abuse prevention.
Downloaded ML Kit language models are stored on your device until you delete them through Saftera, reset app data, or uninstall the app.
6. Service providers and international processing
The providers below may process limited information to support app functionality. Local location records, emergency profiles, rescue cards, journal entries, sensor readings, and translation input/output text are not sent to Waitcle servers unless you choose to share them outside the app.
| Provider | Purpose | Information that may be processed | Retention / handling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Pages, Cloudflare R2, and related CDN/hosting infrastructure | Web page delivery, map catalog and map package delivery, security, abuse prevention | IP address, request time, requested URL, user agent, status code, error logs, approximate region | Operational logs are generally kept for up to 90 days unless longer retention is needed for security, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons |
| Google ML Kit and related Google/Firebase components | On-device translation model downloads and updates, compatibility checks, performance measurement, error diagnostics, abuse prevention | Device and app information, per-installation identifiers, performance metrics, API configuration, model download and translation feature events, error codes, configured source and target languages | Handled under Google terms and privacy policies |
| Email, operating system, and app platform providers | Support requests, phone/SMS/email/share actions, app distribution, permission management | Email address, support message, attachments, metadata, content you manually share to external apps | Handled under each provider's terms and privacy policies |
These providers may process information in countries other than your own. You can avoid some external processing by not using downloads, support email, external sharing, or permissions that are optional for your use.
7. Retention and deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, use the app reset feature, clear app data through the operating system, or uninstall Saftera.
Saftera does not have a server copy of your local location notes, emergency profile, rescue card, journal entries, camera content, sensor readings, or translation text.
Operational logs for map delivery, web page delivery, security, and debugging are generally kept for up to 90 days unless a longer period is needed for security, legal, abuse prevention, or operational reasons.
Support messages may be retained as needed to respond, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
8. Your choices and rights
You can grant or revoke permissions in your device settings. You can choose not to enter emergency, medical, journal, or location note information.
You can delete local data using app features, the app reset feature, operating system storage controls, or by uninstalling the app. Because local data is not stored on Waitcle servers, Waitcle cannot remotely access, correct, or delete it for you.
If you contacted support, you may ask us to access, correct, or delete support correspondence where legally and operationally possible. Contact [email protected] to exercise available rights.
9. Security and children
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by Saftera. No app, device, network, or internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Saftera is not directed to children under 13, or under the local age requiring parental consent, including children under 14 in Korea. If you believe a child provided personal information to Waitcle, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, website, service providers, legal requirements, or our practices change. The effective date shows when this page was last updated.
